The UGM Treasures after school program visited the Vancouver Aquarium on Friday April 25th.The Treasures program seeks to integrate educational learning with positive experiences. Wednesday’s and Thursday’s are spent in a classroom setting with a greater focus on book learning while each Friday they have the opportunity to visit Lower Mainland attractions.
While at the Aquarium the children were fascinated by the prehistoric fish. Ronald was intrigued to find out what prehistoric fish would look like. It was mind boggling to think how long ago the fish lived. (Insert Picture of Bradley by the large fish)
Jeydin writes, “I like the belugas and the Sharks because the Belugas are cool and they can understand hand language. The Sharks are cool because the Sharks have at least hundreds of teeth and when they lose a tooth they grow a new tooth.”
Bradley writes, “ I liked the Sharks because somebody was swimming with them!” (Bradley wants to now learn how to swim with Sharks!)
Jenna, a recent volunteer, writes, “I had a great time providing an experience for the children to further their knowledge of Marine life. We had fun watching the Belugas splash people! It was so much water!”
Thanks to all of the individuals and foundations that support this ministry.
