This is a most exciting time as we venture into the world of blogging. With a backdrop of sadness and hurt that so many people experience in our inner cities, there is a golden ray of hope, and good things are happening. Through this blog, we’ll be bringing you stories of those finding freedom from the cycle of addiction, or breaking out of the crushing web of poverty. We hope these stories are a great encouragement for everybody, whether we are serving, seeing or experiencing the struggles of our community.Reaching out with a message of hope and a helping hand to those who walk our streets is part of what we do. No one is going to solve all the social problems facing us, but we can all make a difference. For many people, hope often begins with a friendly face, a kind word and a warm meal. To our supporters reading this blog, we aim to convey many of these hopeful transformations.
It has been well said no one cares how much we know until they know how much we care. In the blogging world, we have the chance to communicate the compassion with which we approach the much marginalized parts of our community.
With many of our neighbors and families suffering from physical, mental and spiritual challenges, our staff and volunteers find countless opportunities to become friends of the friendless. Through the medium of our new blog, we know we can connect with many who we would not otherwise meet.
Thank you for reading.
