Position Summary
Reporting to the President, and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Administration is responsible for financial accounting and management of Union Gospel Mission’s operating and capital plan, investment management, facility management, construction, technology and food services. Managers of Finance, Facilities and Kitchen are direct reports. The position provides wise input, advice and recommendations on strategic, policy and operating issues, annual business plans, and champions operating plan goals.

Skillset
You have a financial designation (CMA, CGA, CA) with seven years related experience in a leadership  role, and advanced knowledge of accounting procedures and protocols. A strategic thinker, you’re skilled at translating strategy to actions. You are a seasoned project manager with strong business acumen, with a strong background in operations excellence and a consultative approach to find creative solutions. You have successes in planning and implementing short and long term complex initiatives.

A solid and approachable leader, you have exceptional coaching and mentoring attributes. Your interpersonal skills will represent our values in action as you lead multi-functional teams, welcome diverse viewpoints, encourage new ideas, and involve team members in decision making and problem solving.  You are highly skilled at modelling responsible work habits, effective servant-leadership and stewardship. Computer literacy includes advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Access, with working knowledge of SAGE/HRMS and ACCPAC software.

You have superior organization and time management skills, with an intention and motivation to produce high quality work within tight timelines.  As a personable team player, you have high vision and conceptual abilities; are consultative, facilitative and collaborative. Your values suit a work environment that is healthy, supportive, fast paced, and enjoyable.

Experience in a Christian organization, and working knowledge of the Church and its structures or institutions of higher education are all assets.
