Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of People Development, the Human Resources Generalist provides a wide range of human resource advisory and administrative services to UGM management and staff, assisting in the delivery of HR programs and initiatives to enable the achievement of individual, team and organizational goals. As a member of the HR Team (includes a payroll/benefit administrator), the position consults with, coaches and assists managers on a day to day basis, providing support, counsel and tactical solutions for a broad variety of HR issues and functions including: employee relations; recruitment; compensation; employee retention; performance planning; and training and development. You will also have responsibility for HR administration such as: managing employee files; completion of employee life cycle forms; and maintenance of survey information, role descriptions, organization charts, policies and procedures, and other HR documents.
Skillset
You have a degree/diploma in Human Resources, a CHRP designation, and 3-5 years of progressive experience in a similar position where you’ve developed a solid foundation in all HR fundamental program and practice areas and relevant legislation.
A skilled generalist, you are able to develop effective and trusting relationships with staff at all levels of the organization. You are highly organized in prioritizing work, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and are detail-oriented. Your continued growth and success will require the ability to assess situations, apply sound judgment, make informed decisions, then develop and implement solutions. Your well-honed communication skills, demonstrate excellence in listening, coaching, influencing and facilitation, and the ability to communicate with grace in a professional manner. Sound written communication and computer skills wrap up the full profile. Experience in a religious organization, and working knowledge of the Church and its structures or institutions of higher education are all assets.

Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining UGM buildings in accordance with established standards by proactively scheduling, supervising, and completing repair, renovation, and maintenance activities. This position supervises building maintenance staff by planning, scheduling, coordinating and assigning tasks; defines work scope requirements and timelines, sources and oversees all work and contractors; conducts regular building, vehicle, grounds and equipment inspections, then ensures maintenance and safety standards are met.
Making adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, contacting tradespersons for major repairs, and performing routine maintenance such as painting and drywall repair is required. The position coordinates moves of heavy furniture and equipment, and prepares annual budgetary requirements.
To fit within our workplace culture, this position establishes good rapport and maintains harmonious relationships and work environment with internal staff, residents, volunteers, and suppliers.
Skillset
Completion of formal training in aspects of building maintenance, with 8 years experience performing a full scope of building repairs and maintenance and three years supervising staff is required. A BC TQ Certificate (preferably in refrigeration or plumbing) and experience with DDC or BMS are also required. Skilled in performing the scope of repair and maintenance activities noted, plus painting, drywall repair skills, and sound knowledge of mechanical systems, and the ability to read blue prints are all required. Knowledge of building permit requirements, building codes for repairs, and WHMIS practices is also essential.
With excellent skills in supervising, coaching, and providing continuous learning for staff to build their skillsets, the candidate must have sound interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with grace in a professional manner.. To grow with our organization, the ability to assess situations, apply sound judgment, make informed decisions, then develop and implement solutions is required.
