Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of People Development, the Human Resources Generalist provides a wide range of human resource advisory and administrative services to UGM management and staff, assisting in the delivery of HR programs and initiatives to enable the achievement of individual, team and organizational goals. As a member of the HR Team (includes a payroll/benefit administrator), the position consults with, coaches and assists managers on a day to day basis, providing support, counsel and tactical solutions for a broad variety of HR issues and functions including: employee relations; recruitment; compensation; employee retention; performance planning; and training and development. You will also have responsibility for HR administration such as: managing employee files; completion of employee life cycle forms; and maintenance of survey information, role descriptions, organization charts, policies and procedures, and other HR documents.
Skillset
You have a degree/diploma in Human Resources, a CHRP designation, and 3-5 years of progressive experience in a similar position where you’ve developed a solid foundation in all HR fundamental program and practice areas and relevant legislation.
A skilled generalist, you are able to develop effective and trusting relationships with staff at all levels of the organization. You are highly organized in prioritizing work, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and are detail-oriented. Your continued growth and success will require the ability to assess situations, apply sound judgment, make informed decisions, then develop and implement solutions. Your well-honed communication skills, demonstrate excellence in listening, coaching, influencing and facilitation, and the ability to communicate with grace in a professional manner. Sound written communication and computer skills wrap up the full profile. Experience in a religious organization, and working knowledge of the Church and its structures or institutions of higher education are all assets.

This position ensures efficiency of warehouse operation through maintenance of optimum inventory levels and stock rotation; timely shipping and receiving of product; excellent customer service; and organization of warehouse employees’ activities.
The main duties of this position include:
· Shipping /Receiving customer product; test all appliances; assemble furniture
· Co-ordinates pickup in conjunction with staff and donors
· Answer phone and write pickup slips on items being donated
· Relieve store staff when necessary
· Performs data entry and other computerized information as required
· Assist with in-store promotions, replenishes shelf stock
· Ensure landing bay and all areas of warehouse is clean, safe and uncluttered
The skillset required is a secondary school diploma, with 2-3 years warehousing experience, and excellent customer service skills. Good oral and written skills and a high degree of comfort working in a fast paced environment are essential. Background in second-hand retail is an asset.
