Polygon building community

May 02, 2008

Neil Chrystal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Polygon Homes Ltd., along with the employee fundraising committee of Polygon Homes, presented Maurice McElrea, President of Union Gospel Mission, with a cheque in the amount of $121,600. The generous donation will purchase a new van for UGM's maintenance department, completely retrofitted with maintenance equipment and tools. The maintenance vehicle will help accomplish multiple goals. Firstly, it will provide Union Gospel Mission's Alcohol & Drug Recovery Program graduates with a training ground for learning vehicle care and repair skills. Secondly, as the van travels between UGM's 11 facilities providing plumbing, painting and electrical work, it will help UGM's vital services continue to operate in the most cost-effective and time-efficient manner. Lastly, this daily handyman and maintenance work will act as yet another training ground for UGM's Alcohol & Drug program grads.

Polygon Homes has supported Union Gospel Mission since 2001, investing volunteer time and close to half a million dollars.
