From nine o'clock in the evening until six in the morning, Union Gospel Mission's guests are safe, warm and comfortable in our overnight shelter. With room for more than thirty people a night, UGM's shelter is not just for catching some sleep in a cozy environment -- it's a place for meaningful conversation and ways to access the tools needed to recover from an unsustainable lifestyle. UGM is committed to getting people off the streets, while also steering our guests towards long-term, holistic health. This winter, as temperatures dipped below zero and the streets of Vancouver were filled with snow, the usual need was amplified even more. UGM increased the shelter's capacity to its maximum, and we welcomed over fifty guests inside our warm quarters. Local news outlets took notice, and ran a number of informative stories about what was taking place down at 616 East Cordova.Take a look at some of the coverage below to catch up on the stories.
