Outreach Worker, Hastings (Permanent, Full-Time)
Do you enjoy building relationships? Do you desire to show the love of Jesus, intentionally connecting with our DTES community members by listening, praying and providing hope? Are you adaptable, client-centered, collaborative, and service-oriented? Then we may have an opportunity for you. We are looking for an Outreach Worker on our Hastings Chaplaincy and Outreach team. The Outreach Worker position involves ministering to the men and women living in the neighbourhood of the Hastings facility. The job may include making referrals for housing, clothing, shelter, recovery and a wide variety of other duties as needed by the individuals we serve. The work will be based out of the Hastings facility; from time to time the Outreach Worker will assist Outreach at other locations.
Thrift Store Driver and Donations Ambassador (Permanent, Full-Time)

Are you a great driver and love connecting with all kinds of people? Have you ever imagined that these two skills put together could be used to change lives? Sounds dramatic but that’s exactly what our Thrift Store Driver and Donation Ambassador does. Along with an assistant you would daily take the UGM truck and deliver or pick up donations from our amazing donors (both individual and corporate). You’d connect with the donors, form relationships and help promote the work of UGM as you pick up and deliver. Proceeds from selling the donations at the Thrift Store go directly into the UGM programs to help our neighbours overcome poverty, homelessness and addiction.
Addictions Counsellor (Auxiliary, Full-Time)

Would you like to make an impact to our clients in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside community by providing them with group and individual counseling? The Addictions Counsellor is responsible for screening, assessing and counseling our clients, and works collaboratively with other outside service providers as required. In addition, the Counsellor is actively involved in program evaluation and quality assurance approaches that are based on Best Practices in BC.

Ministry Support Worker, Women & Families Outreach (Auxiliary, On-call)
Women & Families Outreach
Are you adaptable, service-oriented, available to cover a variety of shifts (Monday-Friday, Day/Afternoon/Evening), and enjoy building positive relationships with women in the Downtown Eastside? If yes to all, we are seeking an auxiliary, on-call Ministry Support Worker, who is responsible for assisting the Outreach Team in ministering to marginalized women living in the neighbourhood of the Hastings Facility. You may be assisting with referrals, program activities, material needs of the women, and other tasks the women need help accomplishing.
