Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Maintenance and Custodial Services, the Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of UGM’s New West Centre, a multi-use facility that accommodates Administrative offices, Food Bank and Clothing area, Kitchen and Shelter Meal area.

At times you will come into contact with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems.  There will be Outreach Workers and other Programs staff nearby to assist as required.

Skill Set

The successful candidate will possess a Custodial certification or 2-4 years’ experience as a Janitor, and be customer service focused.  The Janitor must be able to lift 50 lbs and have Basic English and Computer skills.  WHMIS training is an asset.

This position may have unsupervised access to vulnerable adults or children.  Therefore, the successful candidate must provide a current criminal record check that includes a vulnerable sector search as a condition of employment.
