Outreach Worker, Hastings (Part-Time)

The Opportunity

Are you adaptable, client-centered, collaborative, service-oriented, and enjoy building positive relationships with those in the Downtown Eastside? If yes, we are looking for an individual to join our outreach team in a part-time (8 hours/week) role to minister to our Shelter guests in the Cornerstone drop-in on Saturdays and Sundays from 6-10am.  You will be connecting directly with marginalized men, developing healthy relationships and providing tangible support.  You will be responsible for ensuring our guests are provided a clean and safe place to start their day, as well as making referrals to meet their diverse needs. If you have personal knowledge and experience with Jesus Christ with proven spiritual maturity and 2-3 years of related experience in outreach and/or social services, then this might be a great opportunity to use your unique gifts in very tangible ways.

You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems.  There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
