Research and Evaluation Specialist, (Permanent, Full-Time)

The Opportunity

Do you love to serve by interpreting and presenting data in a way that helps to make key organizational decisions? Do you have experience monitoring, evaluating, or improving systems in the social service or community development sectors? When you look at performance or evaluation data, do you ask both “How well does it work,” and “how can we make it work better?” Are you comfortable working with numbers and data sets, while also staying connected to the inherent value and dignity of each person those data represent?

Behind each set of numbers are community members, staff, volunteers and others who are changing lives and having their lives changed. We are looking for someone to take a service-based approach to organize, interpret, and communicate research and performance data in service of increased impact. This person will also be assisting UGM’s senior leadership at the edge of UGM’s growth strategy, combining research such as gap analyses and environmental scans with informational interviews to provide critical information. This is all in service to how we can grow to overcome poverty, addiction and homelessness in other communities, and serve our current communities better.

While most of this job will happen at a desk, you will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems.  There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
