Jobs at UGM

Sanctuary Program Supervisor (Auxiliary, Full-Time)

The Opportunity

Are you a mature Christian leader who models Christ in word and deed? Are you passionate about further developing trauma-informed, non-judgmental, woman-centred programming to marginalized women in the Downtown Eastside? Do you have strong teamwork and leadership skills in order to lead a team of women providing direct resident care and support? Well that’s precisely what the Sanctuary Program Supervisor does.

In this position, you will oversee program staff working with the residents in the Sanctuary Program, which includes: intake, case management, social work, resident care and activity programming, and alumni aftercare.  You will also work closely with the Assistant Manager and Care Team Coordinator to ensure good team coordination and resident care overall.  You will also use your considerable knowledge and/or experience with Child Protection Services, including Child, Family, and Community Service Act, MCFD, and VACFSS, to work collaboratively with these—and other—social services, ensuring appropriate and constant wraparound resident care. If you have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ; 2-3 years of related work experience, including exceptional supervisory expertise; a degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or Counselling; and a class 5 (a class 4 is even better) driver’s license this could be a great fit!

You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems.  There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.

This is an auxiliary (one-year), full-time position.  For a copy of the full job description, click on the "Download Job Description" button on the left panel of this page.
