What happens when I make an online donation?
First of all… thank you! Once you’ve made your online donation, you should receive an email message from UGM confirming your gift. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please give us a call at 604-215-5440 ext 365. Be sure to check your junk mail for the email confirmation. Receipts will be mailed to the address you have provided to us.

Where does my money go?
Your gift transforms lives in our community! With each donation, 75% goes straight back into our daily programs and services and just under 25% goes towards administration and development. This is well within CRA guidelines for Canadian Charities. You can view our Annual Report and Financial Report to learn more and see the impact you have made in our community.
When do I get my receipt?
A tax receipt will be mailed to you within 1-2 weeks of us receiving your donation. Our Hearts for the City monthly donors receive consolidated receipts for all the gifts they have made within a calendar year, which are issued before the end of February of the following year. If you prefer one receipt per year for all donations, our Gift Processing team can make that change for you. Please contact them at 604-215-5440 ext 365 or [email protected] to make this change.
How do I change my credit card information?
To make any changes to your credit card information or change your monthly donation amount or method, please contact us at 604-215-5440 ext 484, we will be happy to help you.
Why do I get so many mailings?
With our donors as key partners in our mission, we want to keep you updated on our current needs and stories that you help to make possible! If you would like to reduce or change the amount of mail you receive from us, give us a call at 604-215-5440 ext 365. Please note any mailing change will take 8-10 weeks to take effect.
Can I come visit UGM?
Absolutely! We would love for you to come visit us for a tour of our facilities. It’s a great opportunity for you to learn more about your impact in action and the programs and services you help to make possible in our community. To arrange a tour, please contact us at 604-215-5440 ext 358. Please note, most tours are held during business hours on weekdays.
