Our Mission

That’s our vision. In a world that’s broken by poverty and addiction, we are determined to offer restoration to those in need. We do this by coming alongside men, women, and children to provide a hand up towards hope and recovery.

Our mission statement shows how we’ll achieve this vision

UGM is determined to restore the God-given dignity of people by sharing and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ, providing without discrimination:

Meals, shelter, outreach and chaplaincy services that relieve suffering and renew hope

Life recovery programs that offer freedom from addictive lifestyles

Education and job preparation that equip for successful living

Affordable housing that fosters community and personal contribution

Preventative programs that build healthy families

All that we do is built on our foundational core values:

Christ Centered

We trust the Lord and demonstrate Jesus Christ’s love for all people by living out the values of the Gospel.

Accountable to God and everyone we encounter, we believe trust is earned by engaging in honest, transparent and ethical practices.

We strive to holistically meet the needs of those we serve and are determined to provide the best results possible through effective guest-centred care.

With a humble heart, we are committed to building healthy connections that foster changed lives and respectful, welcoming communities.

Our work is grounded in our beliefs, expressed here in our Statement of Faith:

The sovereignty, love, and grace of God, the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and final judgement.

The value and dignity of each human being as created by God.

The divine inspiration of Holy Scripture and its entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

The full deity and humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God, whose substitutionary sacrifice is the sole ground of redemption from sin.

The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.

The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling, and sanctifying work of God the Holy Spirit in the believer.

The unity in the Spirit of all believers, the church, the Body of Christ.

The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ, our participation in the resurrection, and the hope of eternal life.
