Help Portrait Event! How much is a picture worth?
What: Help-Portrait is a global movement of photographers using their time, gear and expertise to give back to those in need. Today’s Help Portrait Vancouver event will provide family and individual portraits for hundreds of low-income families and individuals on the Downtown Eastside. The event is also an excuse to have a street-party, with activities and music all day on Heatley between Hastings on Cordova, which has been closed to traffic for the event.
When: December 4th, 2010, 11:30am – 5:30pm
Where: 361 Heatley Ave. (The corner of Hastings and Heatley); a second Help Portrait event will be held today at the Carnegie Community Centre (Main and Hastings)
Why: A family portrait or individual portrait can be deeply meaningful for years to come, but many low-income families or individuals cannot afford a portrait for the holidays.
