Table for 2000: Block party Christmas + dining hosted by UGM and Glowbal Collection
Vancouver, BC—Just in time for Christmas, thousands of Downtown Eastside residents will enjoy a world-class event on Tuesday, December 20th when Union Gospel Mission hosts Table for 2000, a festive, free culinary feast made possible by the generosity and volunteer-time of celebrated local restaurant group, Glowbal Restaurants. The entire event is designed to give Downtown Eastside residents a unique and delicious Christmas dining experience.
To accommodate so many guests, Union Gospel Mission will raise a massive tent outside of its building on Princess Avenue between Hastings and Cordova, seating several hundred people at a time. The spacious environment will ensure that guests don’t feel rushed as they enjoy hearty, fresh, custom-made creations from Glowbal’s gourmet chefs.
At the end of the evening, guests will depart with a bag full of goodies and a hand-written card from UGM’s Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program alumni, to help add some holiday cheer to their Christmas season.
UGM will offer a shopping cart valet service, so that guests can relax and dine leisurely with the knowledge that their belongings are secure. The SPCA will be on-hand to care for and feed dogs and other pets.
